A Pernicious Adventure

As I woke up from a vivid, beautiful dream, I realised that I am teleported to a splendid, magical beach where the coconut tree and the bottle – green palm are swaying their branches gently as if trying to reach my hand to wish me a bright-filled morning. The radiant, traitorous rays of the sun crashed into my “still” dreamy eyes as if cursing my iris to shut down and put me back to sleep again. As soon as I opened the wooden, squeaking door, strands of hair crossed my face; the smell of the salty sea tingled my nose as I breathed a breath of fresh air. As stepped my first feet onto the golden sand, I was mesmerised by the fantastical beauty of the sky: A mix of bright yellow on one side and reddish-orange on the other side, competing with each other to capture a larger share. As I looked below me, I noticed that the sand was a collection of multi – coloured seashells; all conveying the beautiful morning message, when put near to the ears. The waves lapped around my feet like a mother giving protection and warmth to her innocent, unimpeachable child. The alluring birds chirping and singing a lullaby in their melodious, heart – felt tone, just made me feel calm, and soothed and I realised it was just the perfect day for surfing!

Strapped tightly into the life jacket and shielding my eyes from the vigorous waves by wearing protective glasses, I approached the sea with high motivations and aspirations. As I set the surfing board rolling onto the shallow, turquoise depth of the sea, I could feel the vigorous pace of my waves touching my forehead and giving me a shock! They not only blocked my eyesight but also instilled fear and paranoia of me tripping into the turbulent, foggy depths of the sea. Far away near the sun-setting horizon, I could watch the seagulls pouncing and leaping on top of each other, fighting for food as if they were three- year old babies crying over trivial matters. Numerous dazzling white yachts were anchored to the sea shore and were seen as bobbling and dancing on the gentle, foamy waves.

Evening approached, although very unexpectedly. The cumulonimbus clouds overcast the sky like the king of majesty and came to power, on behalf of nature. The dense, blood-flecked clouds came closer together as if giving me a hint that something terrifying and appalling was going to happen and I should return to my villa. However, since the pace of the waves was still slow and moderate, I continued to serve, disobeying the advice of the inevitable nature. Suddenly, The clouds burst open, crashing down an electrified shower along with the fearful lighting illuminating the inky sky. The humongous waves gained pace and rhythm, as I started on my backward journey. However, my decision had wronged me and time betrayed me, near to a mortal and a deadly death. The mightiful waves rose to the height of a monstrous sea serpent and the lightning acted as his weapon to kill. The colossal waves descended and bushwhacked over me. It wrecked my surfing board and I was submerged into the poisonous waves. My mouth filled with piquant and tangy water. I was left with no words to say……
